Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Quentin Tarantino Speak On Django Unchained, Attend Comic-Con!

by INN THE BASEMENT on July 16, 2012

Django Unchained is soon to hit theaters on December 25th, but prior to that comes the interviews and promos prior to the film. Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Don Johnson, director Quentin Tarantino and others took to questions at Comic-Con, and word is they were really well received and got a standing ovation.

“[Django Unchained role] the most difficult thing I ever had to do emotionally and psychologically, and I think a big part of that is having to not just really think about how awful this period of history was but to be in it, to live it.” – Kerry Washington who plays wife of Django in Django Unchained and who was being used as a slave and whore.

See the panel and words at the mic below:

The one thing that draws me to this movie is the simple fact that every other movie about slavery only talks about the slave submission, however, it NEVER talks about all the black men and women who fought back – and there were so many. Obviously, there aren’t too many people who wouldn’t kill for their families today, so emotions aren’t that far different than yesterday. It is going to be good to see the complete other side of the story.
