Michelle Obama, no matter what comes at her, keeps it moving as the First Lady and a responsible mom that can still relate to the day when the White House wasn’t where she lay her head at night.  Knowing still that it is important for every child no matter what income bracket that they live, to eat healthy and stay fit.

This is why First Lady Michelle Obama has started the Let’s Move campaign where she is using the USDA and video gaming to help children learn how to eat healthy.  As a matter of fact, this whole thing is a competition called the Apps for Healthy Kids challenge where those who are very creative, innovators, gamers etc can display their ideas before judges for the winning 40 thousand dollars.

And while it’s all about Michelle Obama, did ya know that she is the biggest fashionista to ever grace the White House according to Reese Witherspoon.  Well, she is.  The First Lady has torn down the norm when it comes to First Lady dress, and she has set the future at a different level.  Later for boring.

When Reese Witherspoon paid this fashion just due to the First Lady, it was before a crowd where Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton were presenting International Women of Courage Award, and Witherspoon was there as global ambassador for the Avon Foundation.  Basically, it was all about the female at this event.

This December is going to be one of a kind.  As it gets closer to the favorite holiday of the year, Christmas, President and First Lady Obama will sit, tour the White House and interview with Oprah Winfrey in an hours special called Christmas At The White House.  What a day in America!  History will really be written with this one.  Three of the most influential people in the USA will come together in an interview - first found each other as friends and supporters during the election, and now, for the first time Oprah will sit with the man who she knew would be president - Barack Obama.

The Christmas At The White House special will air December 13th.

Okay, so no woman likes another woman on her man right?  This includes the first lady who knows that her husband, Mr. President, is calling an A+ in the looks department, but for the other ladies, keep your hands off of his bottom!

This hanky spanky from other women is revealed in the book Barack and Michelle, but don’t get it twisted at all.  Though the women like Mr. President, Mr. President isn’t letting it go so far to his head that he will wind up in someone else’s arms.  This is especially if Michelle has something to do with it.

According to The Dish Rag, Michelle wants to tell those women to “back off and get a life”, and I will add a little extra to all those women for you, Michelle, because you can’t have her life, ladies!

So ole Rusty resigned, Rusty Depass that is.  His resignation comes after the uproar his words caused when her referred to Michelle Obama basically as a gorilla.  For a moment he tried to pass his comments off as simply referring to evolution.  Whatever.  That made it even worse.

GOP Rusty Depass spoke at an NAACP gathering about the issue where he apologized for his insensitivity.  Some African Americans accepted it, and others don’t.  Words are words, and words hit harder and last longer than a punch most times.

Anyway, Repulican Depass is now out, but the drama never stops when it comes to racists in governement.  They pop up everywhere with the latest the racist email that blacked out President Obama’s place in a picture only showing white eyes.  This email was sent from an aide to (R) Senator Diane Black!  Her last name is Black!  GEEZ!!  Needless to say, the aide wasn’t fired but given a stern talk to.  Is Republican beginning to read more and more like racists?  Surely not all feel this way, however, it’s a bad way to represent Republican.  It makes you wonder what is said about Michael Steele, Republican National Commitee Chairman, as he is African American.  Hmm.

Racism needs to end, but will it ever…really?

Rusty Depass(R)

He has got to be fully crazy.  Republican Rusty Depass called the ancestors of First Lady Michelle Obama gorillas.  Depass(R) said this in response to a conversation that he was having about the recent escape of a gorilla a South Carolina’s Riverbanks Zoo this week.  All of these comments were found on Facebook!  What the flip??

Okay, racist is an understatement.  Now, some say that it was an evolution joke.  Say what?  That wasn’t a purely evolution joke.  It was an insult to the first lady and her skin tone, basically who she is.  For a member of government, this continues to show the sad state of racism today no matter if President Obama is in office or not.  Old ideas still exist as some people never change…CHANGE -the big word of the elections.  Not only is it a insult to all African Americans, but it is also an insult to all Caucasians who would never want to affiliate with racism such as this.

Right now, this is what happens when you try to get to his facebook page - NOTHING.  It’s down.  Imagine that.

Introduced by her older brother, Michelle Obama entered onto the platform before thousands shouting and screaming who would love to see her as America’s First Lady.  She began her speech by giving tribute to her big brother for looking out for her and not down on her.  From then on, she explained the reason for her being where she is today - her desire for being a good wife and mother and daughter to her family, giving tribute to them all for her successes as she knows that she couldn’t do it alone.  Michelle then told a story of real life, a life she and Obama share with everyone who has the American dream.  Some of her quotes are below.

Michelle Obama - “Even though he had this funny name…his family was so much like mine…his family saved just like we did…raised with all of the same values, that you do what you say you’re going to do…that you treat people with respect even if you don’t agree with them.” 

Then Michelle remembered words that she learned from her husband, Barack, in that we know “The world as it is and the world as it should be.  All to often we settle for the world as it is…” “We know what fairness and justice and opportunity look like and (we need) to strive”  for it.

“Barack Obama will remind us of how much we(people) share… even when we disagree.” - Michelle Obama


These are just a few of the fundamental values that Michelle stressed that Barack Obama will bring to America, as well as how when we pass this time down to our children they can truly say that “how this time we listened to our hopes instead of our fears”

Of course, in the end electing Barack Obama.

What was one of the most precious moments in this portion of the DNC was when their daughters began to speak with their father via satellite.  Young girls who have a father looking out for their future as young women later in life.  This interaction told the story of Barack Obama not being able to forget about women as some may desire to think, but that he truly has women at a focal point of his purpose in the White House…for everyone’s young daughters.
