Well, it looks like Sade is remaining Sade which means she isn’t changing her style of music for anyone, including Drake.

Drake made it known that he wants to colab with Sade, a woman who has been around and stayed around and on top of the music game, even while things have changed.  This is obviously something that Drake adores about her music, but unfortunately, he won’t get the chance to work with her as Sade doesn’t move away from her type of groove.

Drake remains hopeful, especially after his next drop called Thank Me Later.  Don’t get this thing twisted though.  It wasn’t a diss on Drake, but more of a personal safety thing when it comes to the Sade sound that Sade is protecting.

Whitney Houston has come back on the scene and is as brutally honest as she can be in the interview below.  The best thing about the interview is the Whitney Houston is right.  After speaking about the Alicia Keys colab with  Million Dollar Bill, Whitney Houston expresses her own thoughts on the industry and music, how things have changed and the way singers are being more like characters instead of displaying their true talent. She even goes into calling some of the stuff soft porn and very dark.

Now, in the video, Whitney Houston didn’t drop any names, but I will for her.  Costume heaven goes to Lady Gaga.  Yes, sis has a talent, but the weird get ups…yes…this is possibly one that Whitney Houston was talking about.  Also, Rihanna and her talent went way dark everything, so that’s another talent that goes strip for the camera when she really doesn’t have to do so.  There are more, but just two of the biggest stars stand out right now.

If you watched the video closely, when Whitney Houston shrugged her shoulders after saying that “it’s not becoming at all”.  That shrug translated in diva terms means - yeah, I said it and it’s the truth…AND.  Whitney made it look good though!

SWV is a group that we all know of from back in the days of Weak and such great music that really sang a song.  This same group is coming SWV style again this year with a new album, bringing it, hopefully, as good as they did before.  They have an issue with today’s R&B though…where is the good stuff?  This is a question that needs to be answered…

Where did that real R&B music go? In my opinion, and I’m sure millions will agree with me, is that the best thing that could have happened with music was the freedom to be able to pick and chose what genre of music you want to listen to. Radio now is fluttered with what I consider “Kindergarten snacks”, where the artist just gives you a lollipop  and some bubble gum, but the real music fans are still left waiting for a real meal.

We do need to get back to music and get off as SWV says - “Kindergarten snacks”!  There is a problem a big problem when there isn’t that need to want to keep up with an artist or put that album in the play for years to come category.  Back in the day, that is what it was.  This is even why SWV is going to rake it in with their new album.  SWV is one of the groups with that stay around feel.

So you know about that civil rights movie that the director of Precious, Lee Daniels, is crafting titled Selma?  Well, he has got his man to play Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr in actor, David Oyelowo, [source] who was the lead in As You Like It and next to Forest Whitaker in that awesome movie, The Last King of Scotland.

In music news, there are some really out there reports of Beyonce and Lady Gaga kicking it together since their little Telephone colab.  There is even a photo of the two - cartoon that is - of the two getting too close.  Well, that’s a bunch of nonsense.  No, I don’t have proof but it just doesn’t make much sense.

Oh yeah, while Beyonce and Jay Z are in the drop, how about that “colab” between those two.  I have been reading lately through Google translation and more that the marriage is more than the “I do” contract but a bunch of bones come behind it in the millions.  Now this isn’t news to some, but it is to others —not to me.  Beyonce said it herself though so technically it isn’t rumor if it comes straight out of her mouth.  See more on this marriage issue here.  Whatever…they’re still married.  Contract or no contract.  Guess it is just great to get some info out of the marriage as the two are oh so private!
