Laura Ling And Euna Lee Get 12 Years Hard Labor

by INN THE BASEMENT on June 8, 2009

Terrified Laura Ling and Euna Lee are sentenced to 12 years hard labor in a North Korean labor camp.  This is terrible news as Lisa Ling(Laura’s sister) and more pleaded for the release of the two women who are not only journalists but mothers.  They will be kept from their families for over a decade in North Korean labor camp.

The arrest of the two were based on creating “hostilities against the Korean nation and illegal entry”.  That was the verdict that came down on the two women today.  The story goes like this:  Laura and Euna were trying to get a story on human trafficking and as they were on the story, they illegally and they say unintentionally crossed over the China border into Korea.  This is where their mistake lies.  Unfortunately, all the cries of Ling stating that the cross over was unintentional fell on deaf ears.  No mercy.  North Korea sentenced them to twelve years away from their families.  That is hard enough labor.
